As you will know, the government has now ended most of the restrictions that were in place for Covid-19. For the club, there are a few things that will change as of today, I have provided details of these below:
Arrival at club sessions:
You will now be able to enter the Leisure Centre for your session when you arrive without having to wait for club registration outside. The club will still take a register, this will be done as you arrive poolside – this is how it worked pre-Covid. Please arrive in sufficient time to allow you to be ready at the start time of your session poolside, this allows us to get going with the sessions as quickly as possible. We still encourage swimmers to arrive “beach ready” as this does seem to be quicker.
Leaving club sessions:
The one way system at the Leisure Centre is no longer in place. At the end of your session with us, we will check our swimmers out as they leave poolside. For under 18’s, once a swimmer has left poolside the responsibility lies with their parent. You are able to come inside the centre now to collect your child, there are no restrictions. The space outside of the leisure centre is busy, please ensure that for your child’s safety you arrive on time to collect them and do not leave them at risk.
There is no requirement to wear a face mask in the building, however, if you want to do so that is your choice and we ask that others remain respectful of personal choice.
- Please be quick when leaving your session, and ensure you take all of your belongings with you.
- Please remember to bring a drink of water to your session (particularly squad training), the pool environment is very warm and despite being in water you can get dehydrated quickly.
- Please be respectful to other swimmer and teachers/coaches – this includes behaviour in the session as well as in the changing rooms afterwards. Any behaviour that is not in line with club policy will be dealt with accordingly.
I will send a further “end of term” update out later this week with some more information about how things will look after the summer, including some details of the upcoming competition calendar and other events.
In the meantime, if you have any questions relating to the relaxing of the Covid restrictions, please let me know.
