On Sunday 24th April Geoff, Suzanne and I made our way to Newmarket for the masters and senior age group gala. For all of us it had been a while since competing at such a level so we were a little nervous but had no need to be – there were some strong swims and super results:
Geoff swam the 50 breaststroke, 50 fly and 100 breaststroke (at quite a speed I might add!) receiving silver medals for the latter two races; Suzanne swam in 4 races receiving silver in her IM and 50m breaststroke and despite not placing, she swam an amazing 100 free setting a new personal best (go Suzanne!), whilst I competed in five races receiving gold in 50m backstroke, silver in 200m and 50m free and bronze in the 100m and 400m free and set 3 new PBs (no pressure for next time or anything!)
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all of us – we certainly slept well Sunday night!!
