On the weekend of 7-8th October we took a team of some 38 swimmers to compete in the Deben Open. It was unusual this year as it took place at Crown Pools in Ipswich as the Deben pool is closed and undergoing refurbishment.
Our swimmers had a magnificent weekend. We came away with 55 medals in total including 29 gold, 18 silver and 8 bronze. What is more impressive is that 19 of our young swimmers came away with medals so take a bow Henry Bennett, Natalie Tyler, Beth Crawley, Iona Tait, Lewis Meadows, Beth Young, Eloise Albins, Abi Crawley, KatiMai Leighton, Isaac Williams, Frankie Tyler, Megan Watts, Jess Keeble, Caitlyn White, Calum Sargent, Fin Cook, Mia Yates, Charlie Smith and Thomas Boyt. In addition to that a number of our swimmers achieved both county and regional qualifying times.
