On Saturday 25 March 2017, Felixstowe Waves hosted their Annual Novice Gala.
There were six teams in total, 2 from Felixstowe, (Blue and White teams), and teams from Hadleigh, Leiston, Lowestoft and Beccles.
The children that swam were all between the ages of 8 and 13 and for some it was their first gala. Many good times were achieved and there was a good team spirit shown by all Clubs competing.
It was a very competitive gala which went down to the final relay race of the evening. The Felixstowe Waves Blue team managed to pip their club colleagues in the White team and win the overall Shield with Lowestoft finishing 3rd.
It was good to see so many young swimmers compete in their first gala and doing so well. Felixstowe waves future looks very promising and this is down to all the hard work done in training.
Finally I would like to thank all the officials, coaches and volunteers for making this gala possible.
