Felixstowe Waves masters swimmers Suzanne Adams & Jon Wills ventured out of the county to compete at the Norfolk Masters Open Long Course Gala at the UEA Norwich on Sat 13th May.This was the first time that either of us had competed long course in the excellent 8 lane Bernard Matthews pool at UEA in Norwich. We both had a “bootiful” time! Suzanne won 4 bronze medals and swam 3 PBs and Jon won 2 gold medals and 1 bronze medal swimming 2 PBs. Suzanne was particularly impressive in the 200m breaststroke knocking a full 6 seconds off her previous best time, and this in her last race of the day. 200m distance and above swims are run mixed to ensure tightly seeded heats. In his heat of the 200 IM Jon swam in the lane next to former Felixstowe swimmer Alice Theobald (pictured with Suzanne and Jon). Whilst Jon did not beat Alice the challenge helped spur him on to post a good time.
We would like to thank all the folks who continue to encourage us and to thank the coaches for their helpful advice during our training, and especially recently on our starts and turns.

Well done to Suzanne and Jon. We shall add the full results once they are published.
