Information regarding Covid-19 – Training Suspended

UPDATE – 20th March 2020

Dear All,

Following on from our communications to you this week, the committee have continued to monitor the situation with Covid-19 and the advice and guidance being presented to us.

Given the data showing that Covid-19 case in the UK are continuing to increase rapidly on a daily basis and that the country is entering a period of lockdown, we have no choice other than to cease our training sessions for a period of time. Swim England’s latest guidance strongly advises against continuing. We feel that if we continue to run, we are putting our members at risk.

This announcement comes with a very heavy heart; however it is the right thing to do.

Tonight’s session at the pool will be our last until we feel able to commence training again in the future.

We will continue to monitor and review the advice given by the government and by Swim England, our governing body and will keep you updated.

We encourage you to stay healthy and maintain your fitness levels (look out for posts on our Facebook page) and to keep in touch. We’re going to miss you as much as you will miss your sport.

We understand that there will be questions about membership fees, I will be sending a separate email to all members on this topic in the coming days.

Kind regards,

Caroline.
