Head Coach County Report 2018

Our results this year at the Suffolk County Championships have once again surpassed any previous
achievement within the club’s history, in both our team and individual events. We had a record
number of thirty-one qualifiers for this year’s championships across 138 different events.
Reflecting on an unbelievable County championships for the club we now proudly host seven
regional qualifiers, county and regional champions as well as national qualifiers. In addition to this
we have a firm hold over the national rankings with our swimmers topping various different events
and disciplines.

Our robust training and structure has put realisation to the envision of a brighter future for the club
and we are growing and prospering as a result. Our programme ensures every aspect of swimming
development is professionally catered for with all strokes, starts, turns and finishes taught to the
highest possible standard.

Once again Felixstowe swimming club has made significant progress at the half way point in the
season. Attentions will now begin to focus on regional and national competitions with a whole host
of swimmers chasing hard to qualify for next year’s county championships across multiple events
and disciplines.

Our long-term focus is on the development of our swimmers and the coaching and training services
we provide are difficult to match anywhere across the county. The coaching staff are united in
wanting this to continue for as long as possible.

I would like to express my sincere thanks and acknowledgment of the excellent work and
contribution of the coaching staff, committee and swimmers for helping make this year’s County
Championships so memorable for the club.

On a final note to swimmers “it’s what you do in the dark, that puts you in the light”
Congratulations on all your individual performances.
