Ipswich Open Gala – 19-20th March 2016

As this competition was so close after the counties, It was good to see so many swimmers participating in this event. It was a tough gala and I was pleased to see every swimmer approach their races with confidence, resulting in 30 PBs, 4 regional times and many medals won across the whole weekend. A

massive congratulations to all of the younger swimmers who weren’t put off by the intimidating atmosphere yet tried their hardest and smashed their PBs, and to the older swimmers who came out with strong performances, PBs and regional times. Everyone exceeded their abilities this weekend and it’s great to have such brilliant swimmers representing Felixstowe waves.

(Report by Faye Hermon)

Fantastic performances from all Felixstowe swimmers this weekend. Rounded off by captain Faye Hermon being the first ever girl under 1.00.00 in the 100m freestyle setting a time of 59.96, and Brendan Bennett smashing the 100m fly regional time by 4 seconds. The team are looking stronger and stronger everyday
